One Kitchen, a Lot of Guts
Franky opened his taqueria on East Mishawaka Avenue during uncertain times — a neighborhood spot built on authentic Mexican recipes, daily-made food, and the belief that people deserve a great meal.
The Food Does the Talking
The menu is rooted in Mexico's culinary traditions — tacos, fajitas, carnitas, handmade salsas — but Franky's kitchen pushes further with quesabirria with consomé and birria egg rolls regulars travel across town for.
From One Room to Three
The dining room doubled in size, a to-go window went in, and then came the food truck — followed by Franky's Xpress, a fast-casual outpost in downtown South Bend. Each step was driven by the same thing: more neighbors wanting in.
South Bend Showed Up
In 2025, the South Bend Tribune named Franky's a double winner at its Community Choice Awards — drawing applause from nearly 350 attendees. It was recognition the community had already been giving Franky's for years, one taco at a time.
Bremen Is Next
Franky's Tacos of Bremen is on the way — a new community, the same fresh food and neighborhood welcome. The food truck is still rolling and catering coordinator Monica Famoso is booking events.
